A job should be a rewarding opportunity to make a significant contribution to humanity, regardless of the status you hold in life. My job has always rewarded me with a sense of meaning and purpose in life.
Teaching students is a noble activity. The opportunity to help shape the life and direction of a child is a chance of a lifetime. Teachers have such awesome responsibility. It isn’t surprising to me that teachers (over the years) spend more significant time with students than do their parents, especially when it comes to academics and direction.
The most rewarding thing about my job is that I get to create memories which will last a lifetime.
3 most rewarding memories I like to create
I like to create memories of inspiration in my classroom. I don’t discourage students by telling them that they will never amount to anything, regardless of how challenging they may be. When students come into my class, they know that what happened yesterday is gone for good.
When a child walks into the room in the morning, I want him or her to know that a new opportunity for improvement is in the cards.
The ability to inspire students to see beyond their faults and recognize something unique and powerful within them creates unforgettable memories.
I like to create moments of trust and acceptance among my students. For example, promoting collaborative learning teaches students how to come together and solve problems. In these types of situations, I am only a facilitator.
Collaborative activities center on special issues and factors. Academics are only one such factor. I use this activity to teach students how to resolve their personal disagreements with one another, how to plan projects for the classroom, and how to promote accountability among themselves.
The most rewarding thing about collaborative activities is that they can be instrumental in adult professions and careers. Skills learned in these activities will be beneficial to students when they become adults. This knowledge and ability gained from group activities can be used in any niche or profession.
Memories of excellence and celebration
Pushing students toward excellence in both academics and character is another way to create fantastic memories that neither you nor they will ever forget.
Never allow your student to settle for mediocrity in anything. Avoid rushing them to complete an assignment. Excellence takes both time and patience. Students must understand that quality in any endeavor cannot be obtained overnight. There will be setbacks and obstacles along the path.
Every child should know that character is built as he or she overcomes the challenges that are in their pathway. Not only must they acknowledge hardness, but they must also appreciate it.
When you feel that at a job is worthwhile, put your heart and soul into it. Provide an unforgettable experience for all those who are in your reach. Hold no grudges. Avoid no opportunity to establish peace and stability when it is in your power to do it.
