Google AdSense is an Ad program which allows publishers to place money generating ads on their websites or Youtube channels. When people click on these ads, the publishers makes money. As far as high paying ads, Google AdSense is the most popular and respected ad brand today.
I first start using AdSense in 2010 as a member of Hub pages. I wrote a collection of 30 articles, no more than 500 words each. I submitted them to Hub pages and watched the money accumulate for every ad click.
Since then things have changed with Google AdSense. Google has become stricter about how it pays its publishers for Ads.
The growth of Google over the years has given the brand more leverage to dictate how publishers use their Ads. Nevertheless, if you have a website and would like to host Google AdSense on your site, all you have to do is apply for an AdSense Google code. The process is quite easy.
Using Google Adsense
Things You’ll Need
- Google account
Log into the AdSense website with your Google account. If you don’t have a Google account, then you must apply for one to receive an AdSense code. Follow the steps to apply for a code.
Once you have been approved, you will receive an AdSense ad code; then you are ready to place ads on your website.
However, there is no need to rush placing ads on your website. Make sure you have written at least 20 or more articles for your website. The more articles you write for your website, the greater your chances of making money from AdSense.
Since you are a smaller or start-up site, it can be hard to compete for traffic against big powerhouse websites such as CNN News, New Times and Hoffman Post.
The above powerhouses have hundreds if not thousands of article submitted to them on a daily basis. Nevertheless, your persistence in writing articles will prevail.
The key to Success
If you desire to be successful with making money with AdSense, especially as a little-known publisher, you will have to make yourself known. This activity means promoting your website on such communication social platforms as Facebook, Twitter, Pin Interest and You- Tube. The more articles that you write and promote, the more people will be interested in your website.
Traffic comes to your website as you consistently write and publish articles. Over the long haul, you will see traffic increase as Google ranks your articles. The higher your articles ranks, the more traffic you will receive from Google. Your website will gradually rise to the top of Google and your revenue will increase.
Google AdSense for publishers isn’t a get rich quick program. Web sites with the best traffic and revenue have been active for several years.
Should You Pay for Traffic?
You can pay for traffic, but it is not the same as the gradual acquisition of traffic that is genuinely interested in your in your message. Such loyal customers will buy from you quicker than those who come to your site through paid traffic. The choice is up to you. But patience is a virtue.
Type of Niches
Regardless of your niche, you can place AdSense ads on your website and get paid each time someone clicks a Google Ad.
However, some niches are more prominent than others, thereby producing greater revenue when AdSense ads are clicked.
A List of Big Money Making Niches
- Health Care
- Oil Companies
- Website building and hosting
The above is by no means an exhaustive list. Neither are the above niches the only ones that can make money.
Write articles about the things you are most passionate about. Don’t let the thought of big money niches intimidate or discourage you. If you are passionate enough about your niche, regardless of what it may be, write about it with all your mind, heart, soul and strength. Your passion will pay off.
Google likes passionate writing. This type of writing doesn’t sound forced. Instead, it flows with cases and grace, allowing the reader to absorb the experience easily. In other words, passionate writing is interest writing. Readers will love it.
Types of AdSense ads
Once you can place Google ads on your site, you can choose from a number of ad types, including:
- Text ads
- Display ads
- Rich media ads
- Link units
- Responsive ads
- Matched content ads
- Page level ads
For more information on ad type, check here.
Only you know what ad types that resonate with the infrastructure of your website. However, the placement of your ads must provide a pleasant user experience for those who visit your site. Ads must not be disorganized or scattered all over the place.
Google only allows up to 3 of its ads on any one site. Five ads in all should be the norm when it comes to using Google AdSense.
If you don’t have a Website, but is interest in AdSense ads
If you are interested in Google AdSense and don’t have a website, then why not invest in one right now. You must first get a domain. Sign up for a web host. Host Gator is one of the most popular hosting sites. It gives you a choice of plans:
- Hatching Plan,
- Baby Plan, and
- Business Plan
Once you have a host for your domain, you can start designing your website. I recommend starting with a word press site. It is the most users friendly. All you have to do is choose a theme, make a few arrangements and you are ready to go.
Verdict: Yes, Google Adsense is a realiable passive income source? However, guidelines and policies must be followerd to the maximum to violations.
